Is NoCapMocap free?

Partly. A NoCapMocap account is free, and so are the Motion Lab plugin and the demo at the top of this page. Animations cost credits, and a new account starts with 0 credits. The smallest pack is $7 for 25 credits. That is enough for five 5-second moves.

How much does an animation cost?

Accepted Answer

One second of animation costs 1 credit, so a 5-second move costs 5 credits. A standard text prompt gives you 4 versions for that one price. Video-to-Motion is in beta and starts at 1 credit for each trimmed second. You always see the price before you press Generate.

Question 3

Does it actually work in Roblox Studio?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Roblox is what we built it for. Choose Roblox before you generate, and your animation fits an R15 character. To get it into Studio, you need a plugin. With our free Motion Lab plugin, you can save the animation on your character or publish it to your Roblox account. When you publish, Roblox gives the animation a number, called an Animation ID, and your game uses that number to play it. You can also copy the animation on the website, and paste it in Studio with the community Blender Animations plugin.

How is this different from Roblox’s built-in animation tools?

Use both. Roblox has its own tools, and NoCapMocap adds a few things. A standard text prompt gives you 4 versions to choose from. You can start from a phone clip or a voice clip. One description can make a whole crowd of NPCs. Your Library keeps the animations you like, and our free Motion Lab plugin brings them into Studio.

Does it work with R6?

Not for now. We do not support R6 characters. When you choose Roblox, your animation fits an R15 character. Motion Lab also works only with R15 characters.

Text or video: which one do I choose?

Accepted Answer

Use text when you can describe the move, and you get 4 versions to choose from. Use video when you want one exact move. Film it and upload it. Then trim up to 20 seconds at a time.

Can I make emotes, dances and combat moves?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If you can describe it or film it, you can make it. Emotes, dance loops, idle poses, NPC moves and combat hits all work. Choose Roblox before you generate, and your animation fits an R15 character.

What if my animation fails?

Accepted Answer

You get your credits back automatically. If they do not show up, email support@nocapmocap.com, and we will sort it out.

Question 9

Can I use them in a commercial game?

Accepted Answer

Yes, ship it. We do not claim ownership of what you make, so you can use it in personal and commercial projects. The Terms of Service have the details.

Do credits expire?

Accepted Answer

Pack credits never expire. Plan credits refill every month, and unused plan credits do not move to the next month.

How long do you keep my animations?

Accepted Answer

Your History keeps each animation for 7 days, or for 30 to 90 days on a paid plan. Animations made from speech last only 24 hours. Save the ones you like to your Library, and they stay there.
